Hello people - thought of sharing this so that some may find it useful:- (FYI - I have Kia telluride year 2020 model, top of the range, GCC Specs, bought in Dubai)

In order to proceed with the update, you can follow the below mentioned steps:-

1) Visit the website of kia: https://update.kia.com/US/EN/navigationUpdate
2) Select the applicable region mentioned on top of the webpage.
3) Thoroughly review the website information
4) Download the navigation updater on your PC.
5) Open the application in your PC and follow the instructions.
6) Select your car model from the dropdown menu and follow the instructions
7) Once the update file in downloaded you will be required to copy it in a USB.
8) Start your car and and do not switch off until the update gets over.
9) Plug the USB in your car. Either it will autoplay or you will need to navigate into the car system settings and press the update button. (Mine was autoplay)
10) Update will begin and will take approx 30 mins to complete.
11) Once the update is completed proceed with the instructions and modify the system settings as per your preference.

Issues which i came across after updating the system:-
1) The car date and time function was not working. and i was not able to access the setting of the same. But dont worry, once the car starts moving the GPS get activated and the date and time function synchronizes with the time zone automatically.
2) The maps data / saved locations which i had stored in my previous software version, got stored in the guest profile of the new version. In order to get it in my personal profile i had to export the data from the guest profile and into the usb. Then access my personal profile and import the data.

I still have not completely gone through the system. And in case if there is any issues, i will mention it here.

Good Luck!.

Which region did you choose for the GCC update ?

Thanks :)

Dealer just updated my 2020 Telluride SX yesterday. My Nav wouldn’t find anything. After update the screen background is black & you can barely see a map. I want my old split screen back that shows a map view, the radio, weather. How do I get that back?

completely agree And I called and they said no way to go back. A complete downgrad. Kia needs to offer an option to return to previous version.

Curious - purchased our 2022 SX Nightfall Jul 3 and noted the software/firmware/Nav software reflects versions installed 03/30/2021 [210330]. I take it it's behind on firmware/software versions, apparently missing the April 2021 updates. Any suggestions/recommendations?

I believe I read somewhere that one could have a USB stick mailed rather than down load from Kia - Is that just for the Nav and anyone have a link to the site?

FWIW-

Any indications of when 2022 Telluride updates being needed/available?

Thank you for your inquiry. At this time we do not have any information about updates for that vehicle. We release two updates a year, one in the spring and one in the fall, please check back around the release of the fall update for further information.

I would recommend that owners not upgrade to the April software because it is really a downgrade. Wait until there is a new update and then upgrade.

I have a '21 sx. My sister bought one a few months later, after the update. She does not like it and was wondering why mine looked different. I've researched the update and, after riding in her car, decided to wait until this fall before I update! I am hoping they fix what everyone seems to be complaining about. My only issue is that my Apple CarPlay is not working correctly anymore. I'm assuming the update might fix that??

Just updated the Nav Nov-21 software in my 2022 SX Nightfall. Bit of a hiccup initially as I didn't see you needed a 32-GB USB. Went out and got a 64-GB USB 3 stick. Down loaded over 100-mbs FIOS in about 35 minutes. Transferred to USB stick. Took right at 35 mins to do car update with USB 3.0. All is well now. Will report back if any hiccups pop up in future.

What are your thoughts on the latest update? Is it truly an "update" or a step backwards, as with previous versions? Did it change the UI any, or just update the mapping and POI data?

No issues, thus far. I do note that the update deleted the options for playing the background sounds of rain, snow, forest etc, though that my 9 year old enjoyed.

Ah, so it's not just a navigation update, as it says, but really a full infotainment system update.
Hmm.... might have to investigate a bit further before risking it. Thanks for the info!

It didn’t remove sounds of nature… that’s still there. Just might be harder to find since it doesn’t have its own icon on the home screen anymore.

Hi Everyone. Need your help to understand something about the new firmware.

I purchased my KIA Telluride last month. It came with version which was of 23rd June 2021.
I downloaded the latest version files from official KIA website, put it on the pen drive and updated the firmware.

Now the version is shows is 10th May 2022.
However when I am using the FM radio - I can still see the Tubes!

So I wanted to check with you guys - is this normal ....or upgrade has not happened for me ?
(I have attached few photos along with this post for more clarity)
