Insurance Questions

Hello everyone. I went to look at a Telluride EX at my dealer today and after seeing it in person and taking it for a test drive I know now that this is what I want. So with that being said, I was hoping current Telluride owners could help me out here. My question is what the average rate is for insurance policies, preferably Geico. Before I call and get an actual quote I’d like to see what everyone else is paying first just so I know what to expect.

I know it’s a bit of a personal question so if not allowed then admins may close this thread if need be.

Thank you everyone!

Wow, that is going to differ so much even if someone does answer, it may not be indicative of your situation. So much goes into insurance rates, location, where it's parked, what it's used for, credit score and history, driving history and claims history. You're best bet is just to call around or fill out an online form where companies respond with quotes trying to earn your business. Good luck!!

I really don’t expect much of a response to this as what I mentioned is a rather broad topic and certainly varies based on everybody’s situation. I figured an SUV with loaded safety features wouldn’t have much of a significant rate in terms of the “on average” scale. But I do agree with simply just calling around and asking directly through reps.

I recently got a quote from our insurance (Geico) for $480 every 6 months. We're in our 40's and have a clean driving record.

We're paying $580 / 6 months through Farmers with a $500 deductible, also clean driving record.

I just switched my insurance from a Toyota Highlander to my new Telluride SX. I was disappointed
that the safety features on the vehicle played a small role in my premium. They seem more interested
in replacement value, driving record and payment history. As a result, my premium is higher that it
was for the Highlander.

How old was your Highlander? Our premium also went up from our 2011 Pathfinder.

It's always going to cost more to insure a newer vehicle. I normally state to the insurance that it's a weekend car to bring the premium down.

I believe my insurance went up over $400 from my 2010 CRV. That was to be expected. Just to let you know, I have a perfect driving record and excellent credit.

Too many variables on this... Where I live...cost may be lower than if I lived in LA. How old are the drivers and how many? Record as in wrecks or speeding? Married...single...? I am hoping with ALL the safety features... my insurance will be reasonable... am married, Seasoned citizen. no kids to drive it, fairly small community, Very Clean record... No wrecks and even my son...the State Trooper...want's to be the FIRST cop to give me the first speeding ticket. It will also depend on the amount of deductible and … full or no tort. How much will you drive it... retired or might use it for work or business... Hard question to nail down.

I agree with the above post. There are a lot of variables. My insurance only went up about $3 a month compared to my 2015 Optima SXL.

We're at $530 every 6 months with Geico. Excellent driving records/credit and 2 teenagers on policy
That's an excellent rate, we have my 17 daughter on our 2015 Honda Accord policy and we're paying over $700 every six months.

You can get an insurance quote without a VIN.
