I might suspect your mechanic's overall experience and knowledge of your car. As you mention, fuel injection can certainly suffer from vapor lock..... and your high pressure fuel pump is located on top of the motor directly feeding the fuel rail, it's NOT in the fuel tank.

As mentioned in post #2 above, None of the Tellurides have automatic proximity unlocking or locking. On my '25 MY SX-P, the mirrors will unfold when you get very close to the door with the fob, but the doors don't unlock automatically by proximity, you have to put your hand behind the door...

That symbol on the blind spot live video indicates that your vehicle thinks your outside rear view mirrors are folded inward (obviously from your pics they are not), and it's telling you to unfold them to the normal operating position. Did the mirrors recently get bumped or manually folded out...
