Easy fix. Either install electronic module like I did. Or go to Etsy and find the shim for under $10 to deactivate system. And then cover up the light. :)

I just completed this project on my 23 sxp xpro with no issues. See attached pictures! Thanks to the OP!

I ended up finishing this project with a simple switch to raise and lower the tailgate. I attempted to put an LED in-line with switch, though it lit up, it did not activate the tailgate. See attached pictures.

So I just pulled the trigger on the 28" light and a battery pack (in lieu of tapping 12V battery in car). I'll mount both to the tailgate lid inside. I'll provide pictures when I receive the products and finish the install. Cheers! https://kingpinequipped.com/products/f-series-28-light...

Yes. I have two. One of them is in the car for StarLink while my Bluetti feeds it with power for charging in parallel as it runs my refrigerator and other stuff. The second one is for in-tent for whatever camping.
