The Official Creak, Rattle and other noise complaint thread

Following this thread ..... I too have the headliner /dome light issue . So annoying , and I live on a dirt road to make this worse .

    Windshield

I had mine replaced last week , it developed a tiny hairline fracture as the result of a small stone chip . I had received a letter stating this could be an issue back in November 2019 . Last week it became visible as the water was running down and abruptly ran off in either direction sideways...

Husky Liners are on the way....

BTW , the husky liners for the front and second row fit perfect and run up the sides fairly good where they can . I am very pleased with them at this point , they have never let me down in the past for protecting my carpets from the dreaded salt stains . The only place I can see that they will...

    Cold weather items

So true about the wiper location . The defrost on high does nothing to the frozen rubber on the blades . Lexus ( and maybe others ) combat this by having a heated defrost strip under the wiper blade home position to melt off ice. Another thing to watch out for is the flimsy door handles when...

Husky Liners are on the way....

I have been in contact with Husky liners . They said they are currently finishing up the Telly liner designs and should be production ready in 3 weeks . I am patiently waiting for these myself , and feel they are the best . Hopefully there are options for the back cargo area , and a few colour...

    Telluride Hitch part number(s)

Installed the hitch on saturday with no issues , everything fit very nicely and the instructions were very good . They even mentioned using a thread chaser for the weld spatter ( my threads were clean ) I removed the muffler and let it hang down on the passenger side rubber hanger to gain...

    Kia Telluride aftermarket wheel thread

Question , will these fit with the 32 offset ? Rears would run 20x9 and fronts 20x8.5

    Telluride Hitch part number(s)

Just ordered online from Kia USA . Luckily I have someone in the US to ship to , otherwise I would be waiting for dealers here in Canada to eventually get a few ....and with no priority list . Boating season could have been a bust ! I called to confirm and they told me they are in stock and...

Premium fuel, worth it or waste of money?

Shell Canada 91 octane is the “ go to” fuel for ZERO ethanol. I run anything with plastic/ rubber fuel hoses and tanks , with that . Everything else gets regular with ethanol . Only because I can’t afford to use it on everything, otherwise I would . Ethanol is a MPG killer.

Recommendations for a good orbital polisher?

    oil catch can?

I figured the same , the almighty dollar . Are the additives enough to negate the catch can ? I wish we had some real world testing available .

    oil catch can?

You are correct , Atkinson is an improvement on the original designs . Could the " fuel additives " in the service procedure aid in cleaning the valves , or is it redundant with high end fuels ( additives included ) For those of us wanting a catch can it appears that the Mann Hummel Pro vent...

    oil catch can?

A quick search brought this up, quote from another member . The problem is that GDI engines have a dry induction path. The fuel is sprayed directly into the combustion chamber. Because of this the incoming fuel that washes down the intake valves in a rail injected engine is absent. For the most...

    oil catch can?

When the dealer services the engine do they run a cleaner through the intake ? I plan on doing the oil changes myself ( keeping full records ) and would not have access to this type of cleaning ... Therefore installing the can would be some benefit .

When will you do the first oil change?

6000 km ( 3728 miles ) is the recommended first oil change for Kia Canada I have always done early first changes on new engines in my fleet , having said that " The engineers know best " mantra has invaded the oil forums . I am torn . As a millwright I have done my share of oil changes on a...

    oil catch can?

What is the consensus regarding oil catch cans on our engines ? I understand the benefits to the valve train , are they worth the money if you plan on keeping the vehicle for the long term ? I think it might be " cheap insurance " to install one from the beginning .

Can you access the third row with the child seats installed in the second row?

After installing my two forward facing child seats on the bench seat ( second row ) I noticed the power switch to move those seats forward would attempt to move and then return . Realizing how often this would happen and the damage caused on those motors , I decided to pull the fuses for those...

    Front licence plate mounting options

Just wondering how those of you who are forced to run with the front plates have them mounted ? I take delivery on Monday (April 29 ) and was considering telling the dealer to wait until I have a no-drill plate mount ($$$) or figure the best place to drill ( ugh ) Please include pics if you...

What is your preferred all-weather mat?

I have found the weathertech versions don’t go as high , up the sides to protect the carpet from snowy boots the way husky liners do . Maybe that’s a snow belt problem , not so important down south .
