Plastic Threshold Trim in Rear Cracking

Just wanted to give you all a heads up to be mindful of the black plastic trim that separates the back area of the Telluride from the hatch weatherstripping. I sat on it to put on my boots with a pocket knife in my back pocket and it cracked a chunk of this plastic right out (see pictures). It wasn't until this time that I realized that there is basically a 1 inch tall void beneath the center of this trim, so it is not supported on the underside at all and acts as a "bridge" of sorts. While I also hate the fact that this piece was so brittle, I feel as though it's also ridiculous that it spans such a big gap unsupported as well.
