Seeing a number of aftermarket cross bars in the $100-150 range.
Anyone tried them?
Opinions?
Thanks

I'm just fitting https://www.ebay.com/itm/US-Stock-S...019-2020-Lockable-Roof-Rack-Rail/193389416617
They seem well made but the Telly roof bars are farther apart at front, closer at rear. The two bars received are appropriately two different lengths, 99cm and 108cm. The 99 fits the rear well but the 108 cm will only fit too far forward over the front sunroof and at least 48" from the rear bar, much more than the recommended 24" to 36" crossbar spacing.

I have a set also. Fits fine sunroof opens right under it. Got mine for 100 shipped. As long as you put the long one up front you’re fine.

How are these working out for you? Have you loaded a cargo box on them yet? You leave them on full time? If so, you get any vibrations or anything? TIA!!!
They are working fine. As you can see, I had to mount them toward the back due to sunroof interference. I have not noticed any increase in wind noise and I leave them on all the time. 20200519_085521.jpg

you think a roof box, at that crossbar height, will interfere with the rear fin?

I would guess it depends on how much higher the box is over the cross bars, and/or how far back the box extends. That said, if I had to do it over again, I would have chosen a slightly higher crossbar.

What are those things in the middle of the bars? Protection of some kind? If so, I'd bet they are creating the bulk of the wind noise. I had factory crossbars on my Discovery and LR3 and there is increased wind noise for sure but it was minimal. If you are going to keep them on all of the time that is to be expected. I have ordered something similar and I am waiting for them to arrive. I'll take pics of them with the box on top but I don't think it will be a problem at all. I think the original Kia crossbars look a little off given how tall they are.

Thanks. Loving the low profile. I think I will order a set and use them as needed, not full time. Thanks for the Intel.

We had a Thule box on our Telluride with the Thule Aerobars and it worked fine you just had to position the box forward a bit and reduce the max height of the rear hatch a little.

@Powers did you ever get your new bars installed and if so, how are they? Just found out today that we are driving to MI in 2 weeks. Not a ton of Time to get cross bars, I have a box, and to be safe I can get the Kia ones but I don’t want them. I also don’t want to spend tons of money on something that will not be used full time.

would love to hear alternative options to Thule, Yakima or Kia.

@mdineen Would you be interested in used KiA crossbars at a decent price? I replaced mine with the Thule ones and put a cargo carrier on top. Just had this all done last month.

I am just south of Denver, and could get them out for shipping on Monday if interested....just gotta find a box and find out how much to ship..might be able to do include shipping in the advertised price since albuquerque is pretty close.PM me if interested.

thanks,

Burg

For those of you that installed the OMAC ones looking back now that it's been on for a while what do you think of them?

Is the wind noise ridiculous?

Any issues putting a cargo box and it affecting the rear antenna since it's solo profile?

Any issues with the sunroof opening?
