Pictures of how I installed my Mishimoto baffled oil catch can.
Oil catch cans DO work, the downside is you have to empty them every so often.
Oil catch cans are not for everyone. If you don't want to have to remember to empty it or you don't plan on keeping your car 10+ years then I would suggest you skip adding one all together.
If you are like me who does their own basic car maintenance and keeps their cars for as long as you can then I HIGHLY suggest you get one!

So I've seen these mentioned for various cars, but never heard what the purpose is supposed to be. Can you explain? Also, I don't see anything in your post or photos that actually shows the can installed. Do you have a photo of what it looks like in place? Is this something the dealer will likely see during routine maintenance? Is it likely to raise warranty questions?

There are pictures of it installed in my original post. Oil catch cans help to catch engine blow by aka excess oil from going through your engine where it is not supposed to. Car manufacturers would not consider making these standard as it is a user serviceable part that you have to empty out every so often and someone would forget and then blame them. Anything you add or change under the hood there is always a possibility of them seeing it. When installed correctly it will not raise warranty questions unless they are a shady dealership looking to pin a fault on someone else. In that case you can always remove the oil catch can and go back to bone stock. Search "benefits of oil catch can" on YouTube

I see it now, thanks.
After doing some additional research, I don't see a need for one.
Seems like a solution in search of a problem. Thanks for the clarification, though.

I plan to do this. Thank you for the DIY! How much have you collected and what kind of driving (mostly short trips, frequent longer drives (more than 10 miles, highway speed, etc).

When I go to the website is not showing a specific one for the telluride, only for the stinger.

I purchased the two port Mishimoto. I am planning to use it on the port that is for lower throttle situations. If I understand correctly, the three port Mishimoto can cover low throttle (high vacuum) and high throttle (low vacuum) situations.

I installed a catch can on my new 2024 telluride. It is collecting 2 oz of fluid...doesn't look like oil more like gas...some water..every 120 miles!!
Car has 3000 miles. Brand of gas makes no difference. What amounts have you been collecting??
Thx

Not much at all but I empty it every month. I have noticed in the colder months here in NC sometimes the color is a bit lighter but after doing some research that is due to the cold weather and/or not driving as much
