Sounds like the dealer is trying to put you in a position of forced up sell. They added crap to your order or they never order a car and are trying to get you take one of the stock ones coming in that is similar. I’d blow a gasket.

Isn’t the bumper in this area the generic black plastic as-is? If so, what is the point of this additional cover- it is not protecting any paint?!?!

It should be illegal for a dealer to add anything to a car without written authority. Local dealers here (not kia) force you to take a car with PULSE brake lights. I don’t appreciate them splicing a device I don’t want into the vehicle wiring. This stupid play on their part lost them a sale...

@jazzyone is correct. You need to have the cable connected to the phone to transfer data from the phone to the display on the the vehicle. No cable plugged in, no Carplay.
