Intermittent starting problems

Trying to figure out starting issues- wondering if anyone experienced this and what might be causing it. A few months ago I started experiencing intermittent starting issues. At first it would take a 2-3 tries to start, sometimes it would start right away and sometimes I try many times and it would not. Took it to local dealer. When they went to work on car 2 days later- started no problem. Took it to KIA and of course it started fine that day. They did not offer an answer or keep the car to see if they could reproduce the issue. Everything turns on- the dash, music, lights but engine does not start. You hear a click with the attempt. I have to turn the car off and retry. Once it starts- it runs fine, except for when I did not disable the auto off and it stopped in heavy traffic- the dash flashed a red alert and started alarming (that was a bit unsettling)I had to throw it into park. Try to restart and then could drive home. It will have starting problems for days and then go 2 weeks with no starting issues. Battery is only a few months old, spark plugs replaced.
