Kia Telluride Non-ADM Dealers a.k.a "Nice Kia Dealers List"

Based on the referrals on this site, I put in an order with Lucas @ Muncie Kia. Huge thank you to everyone that has contributed, this information has been really helpful in my search to avoid all of the ridiculous price gouging. I wrote Lucas an email and asked if they honored Costco pricing, and told him what I was looking for, and he replied very quickly (and clearly) with the below. He is a great communicator which is a plus when you aren't going to meet face to face in this process.

My order: SX Prestige Package
· Wolf Gray (with Nightfall Edition Package)
· Interior Light Kit, Multicolored
· Towing Package

Lucas quoted me:
MSRP: $50,595
Costco Price: $49,395
This price does not include any rebates, sales tax, title fee ($31.25) or dealer administrative fee ($199). The expected wait time for this order would be approximately 6-8 months. We require a $500 deposit to place the order.

I placed the order same day with a short phone call where he gave me a few heads up about the process. I also mentioned that I was hoping the 2022 Telluride has a fully digital dash (my VW tiguan has it!) and he said if my order has not been filled when they announce the 2022's we can transition it to a 2022.

I live in Chicago, about 5 hours away, and will happily drive to Muncie to pick up my new Telly to now have to deal with the BS; and will be extra grateful for when it is time to trade her in in a few years that I didn't pay the $4500-9000 over MSRP.

Again, thanks for putting together this list!

My "Nice Kia Dealers List" -

Alan Griffitt, Sales Consultant, at Ed Voyles of Chamblee (Chamblee, GA) will order at MSRP, $2,000 refundable deposit, 4-6 months wait. Alan sent me complete paperwork with out-the-door price, totally legit.

Lucas Boehm, Internet Sales Consultant, at Kia of Muncie (Muncie, IN) will order at BELOW MSRP, as they honor Costco Auto Program pricing for Costco members. $500 refundable deposit, but a potentially long 8 months wait. Lucas will provide an out-the-door price.

Gerald Greene, New Car Sales Manager, at Superior Kia (Cincinnati, OH) will order at $1,000 BELOW MSRP. $500 refundable deposit, 2-3 months wait. Gerald will provide an out-the-door price. I ordered with Gerald on 09/23/20. I’ll fly to Cincinnati from DC & drive my SX back to Northern Virginia, some day.

Truth be told, Lucas was my first choice, completely transparent interactions with him. Though I'm in no rush, a potential 8 months wait was the negative. Hopefully, things will go as planned with Superior Kia.
@Deleter just curious how things worked out with Superior?

I found one in Kia of Irvine, 1.5K markup for the LX we wanted, none of that BS add-ons.
Kia of Irvine is now charging a minimum $5000.00 over MSRP to order an EX or SX model. I didn't bother checking on the LX or S models. They need to be OFF the "good dealers" list.

I have been looking and found several dealers in the Midwest, Nebraska, Iowa, that are not even taking orders.
Anderson Kia in Grand Island told me they are now asking $3000 over MSRP
Anderson Kia (same owner) in St Joseph's MO is charging $7000 over MSRP.
I am all for Supply and Demand, but somewhere there is a line a dealer steps across and enters into price gouging and damaging their reputation.
Everyone I spoke with is VERY nice and helpful, but you can afford to be nice when you are making thousands of dollars more than usual.
These dealerships were thriving back when the prices were normal. I have a hard time paying over MSRP on a car, no matter how much in demand it is.

Please remove Paramount Kia, Asheville, NC from the list.
I just spoke with Todd Brilis via email, and he told me "...we do mark them up. There is not a Kia dealer that doesn't. Some are more than us some are less. SX and EX models are 9k over MSRP all others are 6K over. "
Too bad, since they were one of the closest 'good' dealers to me. I'm not sure where to look now...

Based on info in this thread I contacted John Plewka at Classic Kia in Waukegan, IL and he confirmed that they are ordering at MSRP with no markups. He sent me the option list and codes for everything and walked me through ordering exactly what we wanted. We placed the order for a Gravity Grey EX Nightfall on 7/12 with a $500 deposit, it was accepted into the system with a VIN on 8/9 and we took delivery of it on Saturday. He kept in touch every couple weeks and provided updates as he got them. The process of finalizing our paperwork was incredibly smooth. I would highly recommend contacting John for anyone in northern IL or southern WI looking to place an order at MSRP

WOW! That is an amazing turnaround time! Good for y'all!
We ordered 7/16 and haven't heard anything and haven't seen the factory even pick up the order, and we are only 4 hours or so from the factory! Bramlett Kia doesn't charge an ADM but the salesperson hasn't really reached out to us either! Getting a little discouraged!😩🥺

I have never paid more than the invoice price on any new vehicle. Currently the difference between invoice and MSRP is ~4.5%. Before the age of the internet when invoice figures were not so readily available, that number was more like 10-15% depending on the brand and model. I find it hard to believe that Kia dealerships are losing money even if they offer the Telluride at invoice pricing. The new Ford Bronco is taking orders and many dealerships are doing the same thing by selling at or above MSRP, simply because they can. However, there is a dealership that is willing to sell in bulk by offering 3% BELOW invoice. Why can't we find Kia dealerships that truly want our business and prefer to sell in bulk? I live in Round Rock and the Austin prices are ~$9k over MSRP. An hour north in Waco, the advertised price is MSRP -$150. I refuse to deal with opportunistic dealerships and it floors me that the average consumer thinks that these kind of sales practices are reasonable. It would be nice to see members post which dealerships work off of invoice (which is an inflated number to begin with), rather than the outright lie of MSRP.
I live in Georgetown, TX. At the Austin area dealerships the asking price for a 2022 Telluride SX is $10-12k over MSRP now. And people are paying it! Unbelievable!

As Arjun said, Waco, an hour or so north, is advertising Tellurides at MSRP plus that $150 protection package. If they can find me an SX with what I want, I’ll pay that and save the $10000 if I went to Austin. It’s still too high, but at least they‘re not doing the extreme price gouging that other dealers are.

Also, Killeen, TX (home to Fort Hood), also about an hour northwest, is advertising 2022 Tellurides at or below MSRP). But neither dealership would be able to get me what I want for at least 2-3 months. So I’ll just stick with my trade in vehicle for now and wait.

But you know, this is capitalism at work…it’s basic economics (supply and demand, scarcity of resources, what the market will bear, yada yada yada). I get it…get what you can. It just FEELS wrong. But if I let my feelings govern my behavior, I’ll just be like so many others who don’t exercise any common sense.

An update, Dennis Eakin KIA in Killeen, TX has about a $4k markup above MSRP, so, there’s that.

We just picked up our 2022 Telluride SX Prestige at University Kia in Waco, TX today. We were only charged MSRP plus an $1800 dealer add on for Weather Tech mats and a protection package. We live in Georgetown, TX, about 1.5 hours drive south of Waco. We were told by the financing guy that we are the last ones outside of the Waco area that they are allowing to buy Tellurides from them because demand is so insanely high they are restricting sales to residents in the Waco area.
