Mine is an EX but I think we have the same size screen. It took a couple of tries to get it. On the left side tap the area right next to the vertical line but not on it, also it's not along the bottom edge of the screen like the video but more like the height along the bottom of the Update...

I was in the same situation, either get a EX that was on the lot or wait it out.

Knowing what I know now, I kind of wished I had purchased an SX instead of an EX for the added options. For me it wasn't about saving money but more not wanting to wait months on an SX. Anyone else on the same boat?
