Anyone else have issues with Rear Occupant Assist?

Couple of times when I'm dropping of my kids at, they can't open the rear doors because the car thinks there's a car approaching in my blindspot, even though it's behind me in line.

Can that be deactivated? Guess that defeats the purpose...🤔
