I am a little skeptical at the report. A disconnected fan would have overheated 10 minutes after leaving the dealer. They would not have made it 1600 miles with a disconnected fans. It would have not restarted and cooled down. They would have not gone 35mph down the road.

In modern vehicles, the heat management is very tight. Cars are made to heat up quickly to a temperature and then cool to say at that temperature. If the fan was not working, it would overheat.

I would think the CEL would appear instantly of the fan wasn't connected.
