Not sure if someone asks this question already or in the manual. How many kms needed for the first oil change on Telluride ?

my dealership suggested first oil change at 3,750 miles or half the normal recomended time of 7,500 miles

I have always believed new cars could generate fine metal residue during break-in period so always have erred on conservative side with first oil change. probably an old wive's tale but I would rather be safe than sorry on this one.
