The place I’m looking at has 4 different levels, Gold, silver, bronze, sport..., but I'm only interested in the top 2.

Gold gives the following protection...
  • 4 Layers of Ceramic Pro 9H
  • 1 Extra Layer of Ceramic Pro 9H Applied to Exposed Areas
  • 1 Layer of Ceramic Pro Light Applied as a Top Coat.
  • 1 Layer of Ceramic Pro 9H on Rims and Plastic
  • 1 Layer of Ceramic Pro Rain on Front Side Windows and Windshield
  • Lifetime Warranty

Silver
  • 1 Layer of Ceramic Pro 9H
  • 1 Layer of Ceramic Pro Light Serving as a Top Coat
  • 1 Layer of Ceramic Pro 9H on Plastic and Rims
  • 1 Layer of Ceramic Pro Rain on Windshield and Front Side Windows
  • 5 Year Warranty

Just curious if anyone has had this done and your thoughts, is having extra ? Pricing is around $1500 for Silver and $2000 for Gold

If nit's only $500 difference, I would think the gold is a no brainer.

I had it done to both my wife’s and my car. Well worth the money. It makes the car super easy to wash and, depending on color, gives the paint great “depth” and gloss. $2k is a great deal for a lifetime warranty, most coatings only last 5 years.

I wouldn't trust anyone that says they will LAYER on multiple layers of ceramic in one session. One layer of ceramic takes about a few days or a week to completely cure to add another coat.

I wouldn't count on that price. I had my Stinger ceramic coated with ceramic pro and the yearly was only 125 for it. I will say this after a 14 months. Worth it!

Dealership is installing some magical 7 year ceramic protection for me. Made by a company called ECP. I'm treating it like ceramic-lite.

I'll add that I'm only paying about $300 for it.

Before doing ceramic coatings, do some extensive research. Most coatings require quarterly decon washes. If you get a mar/scratch etc, that panel needs to be stripped of all coatings, refinished and then coated again. I like the idea of it, but like a lot of detailing pros will tell you, there is a lot more work than just wiping it on and wiping it off. I prefer a good paint correction(if needed), polish then followed by an IPA wipedown. A sealant is my next step followed up by a good coat of wax.

Just my 2 cents,
Kevin
