Who is so happy that the Telluride has a passenger monitor system?

Am I the only one that really appreciate Kia for offering the rear occupant alert system in the Telluride?

Is it not just a reminder feature to look back? I had it enabled at first thinking there was a sensor, but there is not. It would remind me every time I turn off my car. So I disabled it.

My husband told me there were sensors back there.

I love it.

It's supposed to alert you for movement after all the doors are closed and locked. You can see the sensors above the third row.

LOL... 1st alert is what I usually get because I open my rear doors first to put my gym bag on the floor...

So the system checks for weight and movement?

Only movement... I have my Gym bag on the floor and it activates because of the events in the 1st alert.

Not looking to ruffle feathers here but if I have to be reminded that my child is in the back it might be time for me to give up my drivers license...

It could be a child or a dog. There have been many cases where you could step out of the car talking on a phone that you forget your belongings....

I really appreciate it honestly, and think it should be a new standard across all vehicles. No one ever thinks they would be the one to leave their kids back there, but obviously it has happened and with two small children I appreciate the added thought by Kia to include this, can never be too safe. Good job Kia!

Don't think you're ruffling any feathers here but you hear this issue happen often enough that this should be standard equipment on all cars.
