Crossbar wind noise

I don't notice wind noise from crossbars either. On the other hand, my wife's 2018 Rav4's crossbar wind noise is horrendous at +30 mps.

I just installed mine. After one small trip, I can't say for sure if there are any different noise. I'll drive more next week and will be able to tell.

I noticed that on some pictures I saw online, they are not positioned as mine (I followed installation procedure and measured carefully twice). Maybe those having noise have badly positioned bars?

Here are mine:

Compared to some picture found in another thread:

Notice how the front one is noticeably further toward the front. The rear one is also slightly more toward the front.

Mine are not in the same position as yours and were installed by the dealer. Can you posted the installation instructions with measurements.

FireMartZ where you bought the rail? Is it from Kia? Thanks

My measurements compared to the Kia instructions indicated front cross bar was 5+ inches off, distance between 4 inches off and back cross bar was 1 inch off. In addition, the front cross bar was backward - i.e. they are shaped like a wing, larger to narrower if viewed cross sectional - in my case the front bar was going narrower to larger versus larger to narrower. I will be returning to dealer to get it fixed.

Looks like the dealer just winged it on the installation.

Since mine were not installed right and the dealer fixed - but making sure they are correct - I have included a photo of front bar - which shows the groove of the cross bar at the back or trailing edge - is that where yours is? Thanks 8BAD6B80-A4FB-4AD0-B312-5C03644CE8C5.jpeg

Mine are on the other way, the groove is toward the front. I'm pretty sure there was an arrow pointing to "front" under the bars and I'm pretty sure I got those right. Look at the screws under, there is a plastic edge only on one side and yours is backward.

It is raining here, I'll try to take pictures later or tomorrow.

Thanks - I will take a look at the screws - does the end bracket that has the key in it on yours indicate RH (Right) on the Drivers side - trying to figure out what they did wrong - when I took it in the front bar was to far forward and the groove was in the front while the back cross bar the groove was to the back - they just flipped the front to put groove at back and adjusted the positions to the the numbers shown in instructions-I think this is the first Telluride they have installed cross bars on - definitely have reservations about them doing it right!

Not an expert but I recall my Pathfinder had similar grooves on the rails and were installed facing the wind so if I was a betting man, I'd say these puppies are installed backwards.

LH is on the driver side. Here is a picture of the arrow under the bar, close to the screws. Mine is pointing forward, as the label and the arrow say.
