According to the 2024 owners manual, an oil & filter replacement requires 7.08 qts. of oil.
According to the 2025 owners manual, an oil & filter replacement requires 6.87 qts. of oil.
I asked Kia why there is a difference & what amount I should use as they're the same engine...............their reply:
.
Thank you for contacting Kia Customer Care. Even if two vehicles have the same engine model, the amount of oil needed for an oil change can differ due to variations in the oil pan size, engine design, and the specific lubrication requirements of each vehicle. We recommend following the owners manual.

If you have any additional questions or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to call us at 800-333-4542 (option 2, then 5) a
Sincerely,
Kia America

My 1st oil change on my 25 needed about 6.5 qts. to get to the top of the dipstick mark.
Taking the 24 in for it's 3rd oil change on 10/07/2025, will pay attention to what it takes.
Thoughts ??

Because the engines should be identical as they have not made any major changes to them from 2023 to 2025, I'm betting that it is a translation error in going from liters to quarts. I'm betting that they use AI to manage their manuals and no one internally compares their 2025 to their 2024 manual. .21 quarts sounds like a rounding error. I personally just add oil to the full line and then stop. I check it when it is cold.

Took the 24 in for it's 3rd oil change today, ( turned 1600 miles on the trip home ).
Took 6.5 qts. to get to the top mark on the dipstick, half qt. less the the manual calls for..

I have a 24 SXP-X-Line and should hit 16,000 miles in the next week. Mine takes right around 6.5 - 6.6 qts. of oil every time and I don't need any oil in between changes. I did my first oil change at 1,500 miles, 2nd at 5,000 and every 5,000 since then. I do it myself at home on a level surface. I do it with the engine warm and let it drain until it quits. I use Mobil 1 and the OEM filter. Do you have yours done at the dealer?

I have it done @ a dealership.
Bought a maintenance plan @ time of purchase, the plan reimburses me for the cost, ( oil, filter, & Iabor ), just send them copies of the receipts.
Because of how little both of us drive, oil changes are every six months, per the owners manual..( 5000 miles or 6 months )..
