Check Engine and Limp Mode Using Towing Mode

We have a 2025 EX-X Pro and have been using it for over a year towing our 3200lb Casita travel trailer, it is an incredible tow vehicle and we were returning to Louisiana from New Hampshire this week and had an incident arise.
We were in tow mode and had a long descent on the interstate in West Virginia, the engine braking was keeping us at a steady 68mph but apparently going several minutes with increased rpm's and no throttle input created a fuel mixture or emission controls error, the check engine light came on and when I exited the interstate and came to a stop the engine was running very rough and seemed like it was about to die, fortunately there was a Kia dealer a few minutes away that we limped to, when I pulled into the parking lot I turned off the engine and restarted it and everything was fine.
The service department just closed but a couple of the service managers were still there and I talked to them, they have never encountered that problem before.
We continued on and later that evening I Googled the symptoms and got some reports of it happening, so now I simply turn off the tow mode when going down steep descents with high rpm engine braking.

Not sure, service dept was closed so no scanner was connected to the vehicle, fortunately it reset itself with the on and off cycing of the engine, I wrote the mileage down when it happened and perhaps at the next service their (KIA) computer can access the data in the vehicle.
